OPAPRU-MOLE-BARMM MeetingRegarding Preventing And Transforming Violent Extremism (PTVE) Programs

The courtesy meeting that took place between the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) and the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE) on Thursday morning, August 15, at the MOLE Regional Office, Bangsamoro Government Center in Cotabato City. The primary focus of our discussions centered on the ongoing and planned Preventing and Transforming Violent Extremism (PTVE) programs initiated by OPAPRU. We explored potential partnership opportunities aimed at establishing a robust support system for ex-combatants as they reintegrate into society.
Labor Minister Muslimin Sema expressed enthusiasm about the ministry’s commitment to provide support and expertise through skills development training that aligns with MOLE’s mandates and programs. This proposed partnership presents significant potential benefits, not only in achieving the shared objectives of OPAPRU and MOLE but also in reinforcing the overarching efforts toward peace and reconciliation through sustainable livelihoods in the Bangsamoro region.
Present during the meeting were Program Manager Marie Rose Abejuela, Dean Aragazi, and Ephol Calandria from the OPAPRU SHAPEO-PTVE Office, alongside MOLE officials such as Bangsamoro Director General Datu Surab Abutazil, OIC Chief Planning Officer Engr. Dimaporo Diocolano, DPA, Atty. Harris Pinguiaman, and Planning Officer Aieza Glang. The Ministry of Labor and Employment, led by Minister Muslimin G.
